Saudi Arabia announces new announcement for Umrah pilgrims

Desk Report:Saudi Arabia has taken steps to make Umrah easier for millions of devout Muslims around the world. Authorities in the holy city of Mecca have announced free luggage storage for Umrah pilgrims.

On Wednesday, the Grand Mosque and Masjid-e-Nabawi authorities said that free luggage storage has been arranged on the east side of the Grand Mosque near the Makkah Library and on the west side near Gate 64.

Umrah pilgrims can store bags weighing up to 7 kg (not separate items). Bags can be stored in the storage room for a maximum of four hours. Valuables, prohibited goods, food and medicines cannot be stored in the storage room. A claim ticket will be issued to return the bag.

Umrah pilgrims can avail this facility by showing a permit through the Nusuk app, a digital Hajj service gateway approved by the Saudi Arabian government.

To enter the two holy mosques in Mecca, it is mandatory to obtain permission to perform Umrah through the Nusuk app.

According to media reports, Saudi Arabian authorities are planning to place bags in all areas around the Grand Mosque in the future to better assist Umrah pilgrims.
